Let's all just finish the equation for our brilliant military strategists: "genocide"-- the culmination of Social Darwinism and similar manipulations of social science. This is why, as Anne wrote in her post, she has such a gut reaction to social scientists/human services people working for the "dark side" (something I have also considered, in the frame of mind that her student mentioned-- better us than someone else), because the trajectory from more "culturally competent" national security ops to genocide or similar mass violence is a slippery, slimy incline. Yes, I am still alive, though gravitating in southern CT these days... we do need to get together. Excellent illustration at the end, there.
